The Corsicana Jackson Bears are Texas State Champions in Class 3A of the Prairie View League for 1968. Jackson earned the distinction of finishing a perfect football season with a 10-0 season and a 31-6 victory Friday night here before a huge crowd over Gladewater. Jackson High turned in a special effort against a big and rugged Gladewater team to become the state champs in the final season of the Prairie View League.

Since all schools will enter UIL play next season, this was the final state championship to be decided in the PVL.
