Midland Lee running back,
Cedric Benson became the first Texas schoolboy football player to grace
the cover all by himself on Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine's 2000 edition. All Benson did was lead Lee
to three consecutive Class 5A state titles, in 1998, 1999 and 2000,
while becoming Class 5A's
all-time leading rusher.
