In his first year at the helm, Midland High
coach, Craig Yenzer ended a state-record 51-year playoff drought for
the Bulldogs by leading the team all the way to the 5A-I state
championship game. For his effort, Yenzer was named the 2002 Class 5A
Reebok Coach of the Year.
